Yasmin Saadat, PhD CFA

Co-Founder, President & COO

Yasmin is an advisor to the Green Climate Fund and serves as a member of its Accreditation Committee. She is a board member of SEAF, a global private equity fund focused on emerging markets, where she heads the audit committee. Ms. Saadat was previously chief investment officer in charge of Structured Trade-Commodity Finance at the International Finance Corporation (IFC), the private sector lending arm of the World Bank Group. She launched this product in 2012, which paved the way for landmark deals for IFC in frontier countries, receiving numerous global recognitions and industry awards. Before this,Yasmin managed the operations of the Global Trade Liquidity Finance Program, a $4 billion public-private initiative to support trade in emerging markets during the financial crisis, and served as portfolio manager in IFC’s Treasury. In her 30+ years at the World Bank Group, Yasmin worked in Africa, the Middle East, and Eastern Europe. She co-founded the global macro hedge fund Potomac River Capital, LLC. Throughout her career she had a strong focus on SMEs, including developing a state of the art finance curriculum for social enterprises and SMEs whom she also regularly trains and mentors. Ms. Saadat is a CFA and holds a Ph.D. and MALD in International Development Economics from the Fletcher School of Law & Diplomacy, Tufts University, and a BA in Economics from the University of Grenoble, in France.
